About this treatment
Our cryotherapy treatment uses a very cold substance (usually liquid nitrogen) to safely remove the lesion, growth or blemish without damaging the surrounding tissue. At Illuminate we use a very precise medical-grade cryotherapy pen which works efficiently, whilst minimising damage to surrounding tissues.
Cryotherapy works by using extreme cold to destroy small, localised growths or lesions on the skin. The freezing, followed by the slow thawing of the growth or lesion being treated, kills the cells, usually leaving a small scab or crust that will fall off after about 10 days.
Treatment is usually given while you are lying down, but this may vary according to the location of the area being treated.
Minor discomfort may be felt during or immediately after treatment.
This treatment is suitable for anyone with small skin lesions, warts or veruccae, non-cancerous moles or other small skin growths or blemishes that they would like to have removed.
