Botox for Shoulder Slimming and Tension Pain
Botox for Trapezius Muscle Shoulder Slimming and Contouring, West Malling, Kent
Botox injections are commonly used to smooth lines and wrinkles on the face, but did you know that they can also slim and contour the shoulders and relieve painful tension? When injected into specific points in the trapezius – a large piece of muscle that covers the neck, shoulders, and the back – Botox can effectively relax key points, reducing tension in the muscle fibres.
Some people may have large trapezius muscles genetically, while others could have a trapezius that is overactive or overdeveloped. We can use Botox injections to shrink this muscle which will create the appearance of a better posture, a longer neck, and elegant, straighter-angled shoulders. It also helps with neck and shoulder pain from tensed, overused, and overdeveloped muscles.
Shoulder Botox is suitable for both men and women who are suffering from neck and shoulder pain, some types of tension headaches, poor posture or for those who would like to elongate the neck and create a straight, 90-degree shoulder contour.

1
How does shoulder Botox work?
Botox or botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin that relaxes muscles. When used in the face, Botox relaxes the facial muscles to reduce wrinkles. Similarly, when Botox is injected strategically into the trapezius muscles, the muscles can be relaxed without affecting the normal movement of the arm, shoulder joint, back and neck. As the overactivity of the trapezius muscle is suppressed, the hypertrophic trapezius muscles lose their bulk and size.
2
Is the treatment painful?
As with most other injectables, some slight, but tolerable pain is to be expected. Topical anaesthesia (numbing cream) can be applied if desired.
3
What is the downtime?
All Botox treatments have minimal to no downtime, and you are usually able to resume daily activities immediately after the treatment.
4
What results should I expect?
The injections show results within 1 week and can last up to 3 to 6 months. However, the botulinum toxin injection provides only temporary results. To maintain results, we suggest you have repeat treatments as and when they are required.
