Thread Vein Treatment
Thread veins or spider veins are tiny blood vessels that run close to the surface of the skin making red or purple wiggly lines. At Illuminate we treat and remove facial or ankle thread veins using a Thermavein machine. This is a highly effective, gold standard treatment that seals off the vein by delivering a small microwave current through a tiny needle touched to the skin.

Thread Vein Treatment
About this treatment
Quick and safe, this treatment is used to remove thread veins that have developed from a wide range of causes, including ageing, rosacea, injury, exposure to the sun, x-rays, excess alcohol and scar tissue. We also use Thermavein to effectively treat skin tags and milia.
The Thermavein machine uses a process known as Thermocoagulation. A microwave current is delivered to the thread vein via a small needle. The current seals off the vein walls, leaving the dead vein to be naturally disposed of by your body.
Your skin will be cleaned before treatment and we will also take photographs of your skin. Treatment is given while you are lying down with your head slightly raised. After treatment we will apply a non-occlusive foundation to the skin, to help to reduce any redness.
Your skin may look red and blotchy immediately after treatment and sometimes for an additional couple of days. Crusting will usually develop on the treated area but this will fall off usually within 1 week.
Anyone aged 18 and over who suffers from red spider veins.
