Weight Loss Injections – Ozempic and Saxenda

Ozempic and Saxenda weight loss injections, West Malling, Kent

Ozempic, also called semaglutide, is a unique, once-weekly injectable medication designed to help control blood sugar levels and improve weight loss results. We use it as part of a broader weight loss approach to help patients lose weight, as well as provide a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle. We believe in taking a holistic approach to weight loss as your ideal weight can, and should, be achieved through a combination of good nutrition, exercise, determination, and consistency. Without these key elements in place, you may struggle to achieve a healthy and ultimately sustainable weight that is desirable to you.

What is Ozempic?

Ozempic is a once-weekly painless, pre-filled and self-administered semaglutide injection, that mimics a naturally occurring hormone known as GLP1 (Glucagon – like peptide -1). It works by triggering areas of your brain and mimicking your body’s natural hormone that controls your appetite, leaving you feeling less hungry and fuller, meaning you will eat less, which, in turn, can result in losing weight. Food that was once exciting becomes boring and may not taste as nice as it once did. As a result, it becomes much easier to control cravings and adjust portion sizes.

Research has shown great success in using Ozempic for weight loss, with one trial showing the average patient dropped approximately three stones whilst on the medication. Benefits also include the reduction of risks for heart disease and diabetes, as well as improvement in overall quality of life.

Ozempic is clinically evidenced to be a safe and effective weight loss option for both women and men when used in conjunction with a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise.

Treatment Overview

Time required for treatment

Ozempic can be used for up to 68 weeks, but most people only require the medication for several months.

Time until results seen

Everyone is different. Some people can find it takes several weeks to see any weight loss, yet others may see some weight loss within a week or 2. While it can be difficult, try to remain patient — change looks different for everyone. It is designed around consistent, sustained gradual, healthy weight loss over time, rather than fad diet plans that can often give you early rapid weight loss, but at the expense of reaching your long-term weight loss goals.

Treatment longevity

A healthy lifestyle will help you maintain the results.

Number of treatments required

The medication is taken weekly over several months.

Anaesthetic Required

None

1

What happens during the treatment?

Before beginning a course of Ozempic Injections, patients must have a consultation with our doctor and complete a blood test profile to confirm their suitability for treatment. Following this, your doctor will customise your prescription and demonstrate administering the substance using an injectable pen. Your doctor may also discuss lifestyle changes and nutritional support during your consultation.

2

Who is suitable for treatment?

Generally, Ozempic is suitable for those who are considered clinically obese or significantly overweight with a weight-related health condition.

You can use Ozempic for weight loss if you’re aged between 18 and 75 and:

  • You have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more (clinically obese); or
  • You have a body mass index of 27 or more (significantly overweight) and a medical condition often caused, or made worse, by excess body weight.

3

What are the side effects?

The most common side effects are gastrointestinal in nature: vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea and constipation which should subside over time as your body adjusts to the medication. Just like any medication, Ozempic may cause other less common but more severe side effects, such as vision changes, kidney problems, pancreatitis, and gallbladder problems. This is why you must see a medical professional for a consultation and professional, rather than purchasing it online and administrating it without guidance.
