Chemical Peels

Chemical Peel Treatment Kings Hill, Kent

A chemical peel uses an acid solution applied to the skin to remove the outer layers that may be damaged or suffering from the signs of sun damage and environmental exposure. The ‘peel’ removes layers of dead skin, revealing new layers of rejuvenated, smoother, fresher skin with improved texture, tone and colour.

Dependent on the strength and type of the acid solution used, a chemical peel can remove just the outer layer of skin or can be used to fully remove the epidermis and part of the dermis. It is a highly effective treatment for facial blemishes, wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin pigmentation and can also be used to treat acne and spots.

This treatment is mainly used for the face but can also be used on the hands and other parts of the body.

1

How does this treatment work?

The acid solution used removes the dead layers of surface skin and with it the wrinkles, lines or other blemishes that were present.  The stronger and therefore deeper peels can be more effective but carry greater risk of side effects or complications.  We will discuss the types and suitability of different chemical peels with you prior to undertaking any treatment.

2

What happens during my treatment?

Chemical peels are given while you are lying back.  Your skin will be cleansed and the peel will be applied. You may feel some discomfort and a warm, stinging feeling depending on the peel given.  We will then wash the peel off and apply post-care treatment. In some cases you may be asked to keep the peel on and wash it off at home.

3

Will I feel any pain or side effects?

Your skin may appear red and shiny and may peel or flake in the days immediately following treatment.

4

Who is this treatment suitable for?

Anyone who wants fresher, younger and smoother looking skin or requires treatment for acne. Chemical peels can be particularly effective if you are not getting strong results from regular facials.
