Gummy Smile Correction

Gummy smile correction treatment uses small amounts of Botox to relax the overactive facial muscles that pull the top lip upwards that causes the gums to show when you smile. One of the major causes of gummy smile is overactive facial muscles that raise the top lip.

The gummy smile correction procedure uses 2-3 small injections of Botox into the muscles around the nose and mouth to relax these overactive facial muscles. This treatment will usually take no more than 10 minutes and no anaesthetic is required.

Prior to the Botox treatment, an Illuminate Skin Clinic expert will analyse your facial structure, gums and muscles around your mouth to determine how to correct your gummy smile. The results of our treatment will appear gradually from the first 3 days and you will see the full result of a beautiful, confident smile 2 weeks after the treatment.

How does Gummy Smile Correction work?

The Botox injections work by blocking the signals from the nerves to the muscles, causing the muscles to relax and the top lip to drop.  This in turn covers or reduces the appearance of the gums that were previously visible.

2

What happens during Gummy Smile Correction?

You will be lying down while the injections are given, usually with your head slightly raised

3

Will I feel any pain or side effects?

You may feel some mild discomfort from the injections when given

4

Who is Gummy Smile Correction suitable for?

Anyone whose gums show when they smile and would like to have this corrected.
