Scars can form anywhere on the body due to trauma and are a natural part of the healing process. Abnormal scarring is often more common in those with darker skin types, and if appearing on the face, hand or neck can sometimes cause embarrassment or distress.
There are many different types of scars. Pitted, atrophic, hypertrophic and keloid scars can all usually be treated effectively with the right treatment programme, which will depend on the type of scar that is present. This will be discussed and agreed with you at your initial treatment consultation.
