At Illuminate we are pleased to offer a range of the very latest Hair Restoration treatments from our specialist Hair Restoration Consultant, Kelly Morrell Our treatment options are designed to address a wide variety of hair loss conditions, from male and female pattern baldness to alopecia areata and hair loss resulting from trauma or from scarring. Treatment options include:
Scalp Micropigmentation: is a hair restoration procedure that uses medical tattooing, to re-create hairlines, camouflage trauma or surgical scars and cover up male or female pattern baldness. Follicle simulation creates the appearance of a full head of hair which has been shaved by choice, by tattooing tiny dots all over the scalp. It can also be used to camouflage patches of hair loss and creates a fuller look. This treatment is a popular alternative to undergoing a hair transplant and is often used to cover up hair transplants that have gone wrong. It can also be very effective in creating a visual densification of hair following other hair restoration procedures and is often used in combination with Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy or Growth Factor Mesotherapy (see below).
Growth Factor Mesotherapy: This hair restoration treatment can be highly effective in treating male and female pattern baldness by nourishing weak, dying or undernourished hair follicles and stimulating and prolonging the hair’s growing phase. For this reason, Growth Factor Mesotherapy is best used during the early or medium stages of hair loss, but is not usually suitable when treating advanced hair loss. Treatment involves delivering growth factors, vitamins and minerals to the hair follicles via a Derma Stamp, a hand-held appliance that contains 140 very tiny microneedles. No anaesthetic is required for Growth Factor Mesotherapy and results will show gradually, with full results visible after around 3 months.
Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP): PRP is another non-surgical hair restoration treatment that can be extremely effective in restoring hair in its earlier stages of hair loss, by stimulating skin and hair follicle recovery. Blood taken from the patient is spun in a special centrifuge to separate out platelet-rich plasma, which contains powerful natural growth factors. This is then spun again to optimise concentration of the growth factors, before being injected into the area(s) of the patient’s scalp that requires treatment.
We may also recommend the use of Viviscal Professional to be used to enhance and maintain treatment results. This is a market leading and clinically proven hair growth supplement that supports hair growth from within.
