Teeth Grinding
Teeth grinding is a surprisingly common condition that affects both men and women, usually during the night. There are many symptoms of this condition, including headaches, earache, facial pain, tension or stiffness – in particular around the jaw area – and disrupted sleep. Worn-down tooth enamel and, in more severe cases, broken teeth may also occur.
This condition is usually caused by stress, anxiety or sleep apnoea creating tension in the jaw muscles. The muscles often become overdeveloped due to grinding, sometimes resulting in a square-looking jaw. We will use Botox injections into the jaw muscles to relax them and relieve the tension that causes this condition.
