Dry Skin
This an extremely common condition, caused by lack of moisture in the skin and resulting in redness, flaking and a rough texture and appearance to the skin’s surface. This is often due to a reduction in hyaluronic acid, a natural substance in our skin that retains the moisture required to keep skin soft, nourished and fresh. Environmental factors, air conditioning, central heating, the cold, diet and lack of Omega 3 fatty acids can all also cause dry skin.

About this condition
Dry skin can appear anywhere on the body but it is most common in exposed areas e.g. the face and hands and is more frequently found in women than in men, with post-menopausal women being particularly susceptible.
