About the tests
The tests are conducted at the clinic on a one-to-basis with a friendly, experienced doctor. All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure your safety whilst in the clinic, therefore, your doctor will carry out the appointment in full PPE. Your doctor will then begin by conducting a short assessment before the test is carried out.
How does the test work?
The Abbott IgG Antibody test is a CE marked, automated, interfaced, laboratory test. Your doctor will take a sample of your blood which will then be sent to the laboratory for testing.
It takes your body about four weeks to develop IgG antibodies but is still uncertain how long it takes for this to happen with COVID-19. Current antibody tests cannot tell you if you’re immune to COVID-19, and they should also not be used to diagnose the virus.
We will only test patients who have been symptomatic for a minimum of three days.
Patients can expect to receive their results within 1-2 working days.
COVID-19 is a new strain of coronavirus; therefore, there is not yet enough data to confirm whether those who have been infected with COVID-19 are still at risk of becoming sick from it again. The antibody tests are designed to show whether you have previously had coronavirus and how strong your immunity is to the virus.
We are offering the tests on a not-for-profit basis at £75.00. Key workers will be offered a discounted rate as our way of saying thank you. Payment will be taken at the time of booking.
