Allurion Weight Loss Balloon
Non-surgical Gastric Balloon for Weight Loss, Maidstone, Kent.
The Allurion Balloon is a non-invasive gastric balloon that’s swallowed in the form of a tablet and filled with liquid to take up space in your stomach and create a feeling of fullness – helping you to kick-start your new, healthier and smarter lifestyle choices.
Sometimes it can be challenging to shift excess weight through diet and exercise alone. The Allurion Balloon offers a revolutionary alternative to surgical weight loss solutions, helping you rediscover your confidence and embrace a happier and healthier you.
A fully supported weight loss journey
Known as the world’s first ‘swallowable gastric balloon in a pill’, the Allurion Balloon enables up to 15% body weight loss in as little as four months with no surgery, no endoscopy and no anaesthesia. Just results.
At Illuminate Skin Clinic, we take a holistic approach to weight loss, and our Allurion programme is about a lot more than ‘just a gastric balloon’. We combine a high-tech balloon solution with a full support package, including nutritional and dietary coaching, to help you develop good lifestyle habits that stick around long after the balloon has gone.
From your very first consultation right through to the final check-up, we will be by your side to advise, motivate and support you to lasting results.
How does the Allurion Balloon work?
The Allurion Balloon takes up space in your stomach and induces weight loss by increasing the feeling of fullness. This means that you are more likely to reduce the amount of food you eat throughout the day.
You will swallow a capsule containing the deflated balloon attached to a thin tube during your placement appointment. Once the balloon has been checked via X-ray, it is filled through the catheter with 550ml of water. A second X-ray will then be carried out the ensure the balloon is filled and sitting correctly in your stomach.
The entire process takes place during a brief 20-minute appointment, and you’ll be free to continue your day as usual following the procedure.

Avoid physical activity for the first week, then gradually increase as you become acclimated to the balloon.
