Excessive Sweating Treatment

Excessive sweating is usually caused by a condition called hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is the process where the body produces more sweat than required to cool the body. Excessive sweating may affect the whole body or just specific areas, in particular the armpits, hands, feet, face and scalp. This is a common condition but one that often has a significant impact on the lives of those if affects.

We use Botox to treat excessive sweating, by delivering multiple tiny injections into the sweat glands to reduce their activity. This results in significantly reduced sweating or in many cases complete dryness, often transforming the day-to-day life of the patient and dramatically increasing confidence.

According to estimates, hyperhidrosis affects 2 – 3% of the population, with less than 40% of those affected seeking medical advice. Excess sweating is a common issue that can be solved with a simple non-surgical procedure, giving you dry, smooth skin and confidence in your day-to-day life. The non-surgical procedure stops excessive sweating by using Botox to prevent excess nerve signals in the overactive sweat glands.

The treatment is very popular with gym goers and with menopausal women suffering from hot flushes.

1

How does the treatment for Excessive Sweating work?

We make multiple tiny injections of Botox into the sweat glands using a very small syringe and needle.  The Botox works by preventing the release of a chemical that signals the sweat glands to activate.  We use new needles for every area of the body that we treat and, if treating the scalp, may use a Mesogun for precise multiple injection with minimal discomfort.
