About this treatment
This is a common condition but one that often has a significant impact on the lives of those it affects.
We use Botox to treat excessive sweating by delivering multiple tiny injections into the sweat glands to reduce their activity. This results in significantly reduced sweating or in many cases, complete dryness, often transforming the day-to-day life of the patient and dramatically increasing confidence.
According to estimates, hyperhidrosis affects 2 – 3% of the population, with less than 40% of those affected seeking medical advice. Excess sweating is a common issue that can be solved with a simple non-surgical procedure, giving you dry, smooth skin and confidence in your day-to-day life. The non-surgical procedure stops excessive sweating by using Botox to prevent excess nerve signals in the overactive sweat glands.
The treatment is very popular with gym goers and with menopausal women suffering from hot flushes.
We make multiple tiny injections of Botox into the sweat glands using a very small syringe and needle. The Botox works by preventing the release of a chemical that signals the sweat glands to activate. We use new needles for every area of the body that we treat and, if treating the scalp, may use a Mesogun for precise multiple injection with minimal discomfort.
Your treatment will be given in clinic. You will usually be lying down, although this may vary according to the area of the body being treated. Local anaesthetic will be given as required prior to treatment.
Some discomfort is likely to be felt, although this will depend on the body area being treated.
Patients must be over 18. This treatment is often given to menopausal women and gym goers who suffer from excessive sweating. It is also a popular treatment with our male customers.
