Keloid Scarring
Keloid scarring treatment, West Malling, Maidstone, Kent
Keloid scarring occurs when normal scar tissue overgrows, producing a lump or growth larger than the original scar. In some cases, these can be large and distressing. They can occur anywhere on the body where there has been trauma or scarring and even can occur in response to very minor injuries.
Anyone can develop a keloid scar, but they are most often found in people with dark skin. They can last for years unless treated, and due to their size and appearance, can often cause anxiety or embarrassment.
We offer several treatment options for keloid scarring, but in severe cases, we may recommend referral for surgery.
