Cellulite

Cellulite is lumpy, dimpled flesh that often appears on the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks and arms.  It is created when fat deposits push through the connective tissue beneath the skin.  More common in women than men, cellulite affects up to 90% of post-adolescent females to varying degrees, with its severity influenced by factors including genetics, age, body fat, hormones and thickness of skin. Whilst more prevalent in those who already have excess fat, it can affect slim people too.

Some people find cellulite unattractive or embarrassing and wish to have it treated.
