Interest in no-knife treatments has skyrocketed in recent years as more of us opt for non-invasive procedures to achieve natural-looking results, all with minimal downtime. And leading the way in terms of popularity is the non-surgical brow lift – a treatment that involves one or a combination of injectable and energy-based treatments to lift the brows and smooth the surrounding skin. The treatment can help correct uneven or ‘droopy’ brows and open up the eyes for a more youthful appearance.
So, if you’re considering the non-surgical brow lift and wondering whether it’s right for you, here is everything you need to know.
What is a brow lift?
A brow lift is a non-surgical procedure that combines treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, threads and Ultherapy to tighten and rejuvenate the forehead area, smoothing lines and lifting the top eyelid in an entirely natural way, allowing your eyes to open wider. You may consider this procedure if you have a low or sagging brow, unevenness, or you feel that you always look angry, tired or sad. A brow lift can raise the eyebrows, open up your eyes and restore a more pleasing appearance.
When done well, this non-invasive version offers similar results to a surgical brow lift, without the risks, and depending on the treatments used, can last for six to twelve months.
Botox
We all know of Botox as the muscle-relaxant that, when injected into the facial muscles, leads to a subtle relaxation of frown lines and a fresher-looking face. But what you may not realise is that it can also be used to boost brows.
When we inject Botox into the area around the brows, it helps lift and smooth the surrounding skin. This can correct uneven or ‘droopy’ brows and gives the illusion of a more youthful look by slightly lifting the area around the brows.
Dermal Filler
When it comes to rejuvenating a face, there isn’t much that dermal filler can’t do. For improving the appearance of the brow, we can strategically inject fillers into the area above the eyes to add volume to the upper eyelid. As you age, you’ll notice that you lose volume and elasticity in your eyelids and temples, which can give the appearance of ageing and drooping eyes. By treating this area with dermal filler, we can subtly lift the eyebrow and soften the appearance of the eyes.
Threads
Silhouette soft and ReLife Definisse threads involve inserting a small dissolvable thread into the face and pulling up the skin, lifting skin tissues in the best way to achieve the desired result. Although we can use threads in most places on the face, the temple and eyebrow areas are rapidly becoming one of the most requested places for treatment. Definisse threads use a combination of polylactic acid/caprolactone and have bidirectional and convergent barbs that aim to stimulate the body’s fibroblasts to boost collagen in the skin over the following eighteen months after treatment.
Ultherapy
Ultherapy is the only FDA-cleared technology to lift the face in a single treatment. It gives quick, durable, and impressive results, and the eyebrow area is no exception.
In a one-hour treatment, Ultherapy targets the brow using micro-focused ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen and elastin stores. When stimulated using this advanced technique, these vital structural proteins lift hooded eyelids to reveal a refreshed and youthful appearance.
