Gummy Smile Correction

This treatment uses small amounts of Botox to relax the overactive facial muscles that pull the top lip upwards and cause the gums to show when you smile.  2-3 injections of Botox are usually given into the muscles around the nose and mouth to treat this condition.  This treatment will usually take no more than 10 minutes and no anaesthetic is required.

1

How does this treatment work?

The Botox injections work by blocking the signals from the nerves to the muscles, causing the muscles to relax and the top lip to drop.  This in turn covers or reduces the appearance of the gums that were previously visible.

2

What happens during my treatment?

You will be lying down while the injections are given, usually with your head slightly raised

3

Will I feel any pain or side effects?

You may feel some mild discomfort from the injections when given

4

Who is this treatment suitable for?

Anyone whose gums show when they smile and would like to have this corrected.
