Virtual Covid-19 PCR Home Testing

Testing of COVID-19 (coronavirus) Antigen for the detection of active infections, Maidstone, Kent.

Illuminate Skin Clinic are working in partnership with The Doctors Laboratory, a UKAS approved laboratory, to offer virtual COVID-19 PCR home testing for the detection of active infections of COVID-19. The PCR swab tests are also available in clinic for those who are non-symptomatic but require proof for work or travel purposes.

Our PCR test checks for the presence of coronavirus in your system. The PCR test is most appropriate during the earliest stages of exposure to the virus, approximately 1-11 days, and should be undertaken when someone suspects they have Covid-19, or if they believe they have been recently exposed to it.

How does home testing work?

After placing your order, we will dispatch the test on the same day to arrive with you the following morning. If you live locally, we can also provide a contact-free collection point where the test may be collected by a friend or family member of another household.

At the time of order, we will set up a video consultation between yourself and our clinical nurse who will talk you through the process while you’re performing the test to ensure you obtain an adequate sample. After you’ve completed the test, you will then need to post it to the laboratory using the pre-paid envelope included in the test kit.

How long does it take to receive the results?

Once the laboratory has received your sample they will aim to turn around the results within 48 hours. The entire process including the time it takes for you to receive the sample from us takes approximately 3-5 days. If you need your result back urgently, we recommend using our contact-free collection service if possible.

Not for profit

At Illuminate Skin Clinic, we have made the decision to offer all our COVID-related services as ‘not for profit’ to help support the community during this time.
