The most effective cellulite treatments, West Malling, Kent
Despite affecting approximately 90% of women over the age of 20, there’s still a lack of great cellulite solutions for those who wish to address it, no matter what that jar of firming cream may say. That’s because it’s caused by three separate things: loose skin, protruding fat, and fibrous bands that pull at the skin. So, while you may not be able to eliminate cellulite, there are options for helping to soften its appearance if that’s what you’re after. First, let’s get into the basics.
What is cellulite?
Whether you’re a regular gym-goer or exercise-averse, cellulite can appear on women of all fitness levels and body shapes. Cellulite is caused by tiny connective tissue filaments that anchor the skin to the underlying tissue and have fat in between. These filaments can pull down on the skin’s underside and create dimples (cellulite). Whilst connective tissue can be weakened by hormones, lack of exercise and muscle tone and poor circulation, it is not due to obesity or toxins, it’s just normal fat in the body. There are many factors that contribute to visible cellulite. Thinning of the skin can make cellulite look worse, as well as other abnormalities—that’s why we see cellulite in women of all sizes.
Will it go away on its own?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. At least it won’t in the way most body fat does. When you lose weight, your body fat cells shrink. But with cellulite, the structure of the fat cells themselves doesn’t change. So, even if you lose significant weight, your cellulite will still be there.
Can skincare help with cellulite?
Unfortunately, no skincare product will dramatically change your cellulite, and any results you see with only be temporary. Having said that, the Exuviance professional Body Tone Firming Concentrate is one exception to this. Designed with an innovative rollerball applicator, the product is gently massaged into the skin, consequently stimulating circulation. Boasting a Triple Firming Complex, the formula addresses a weakened support matrix, leading to unwanted loose skin, a crepe-like texture, and dimples. With consistent use, expect the skin to look and feel hydrated whilst its surface texture is visibly tighter and more toned.
Body Brushing can also help by improving lymphatic flow, stimulating the blood flow within the skin and soft tissue, and by massaging adipose tissue and the fibrous bands which make up the cellulite deposits.
The most effective professional treatments
If you want a long-lasting, highly effective result, there are a number of professional treatments that can help.
Venus Legacy
By combining Multi-Polar Radiofrequency, VariPulse Technology and Pulsed Magnetic fields, Venus Legacy generates heat that deeply penetrates the skin and heats the deeper tissues uniformly. This helps to shrink the fat cells that cause cellulite, increasing blood flow and stimulating the growth of new collagen and elastin, improving the skin’s overall texture.
The FDA approved treatment is considered non-invasive, it has minimal downtime, and results begin to show after approximately four treatments.
Sofwave
Sofwave, the non-invasive skin tightening and lifting ultrasound device, designed to tighten, lift, and rejuvenate the skin through stimulation of the production of new collagen, has now been FDA-cleared to treat cellulite. The treatment rejuvenates skin using high-frequency, low-divergence ultrasound and heat to reach the layers of the dermis where collagen formation is stimulated. It uses a Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam, or SUPERB, technology, which has now been deemed safe for smoothing and minimising cellulite dimples.
Profound RF
The Profound RF is a game-changer when it comes to the treatment of cellulite. It works by penetrating the subcutaneous layer of tissue at a precise depth with tiny needles before momentarily releasing a burst of radiofrequency energy to heat the skin. The deep skin tissue is heated to precisely 67 degrees Celsius and held at this temperature for several seconds.
This process awakens your body’s own natural healing process by stimulating the production of three skin elements – collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, resulting in a tighter, smoother, more lifted appearance.
Studies demonstrate a 94% improvement in cellulite severity after just a single treatment.
Body Ballancer
The Body Ballancer consists of inflating compression garments (jacket and pants) containing multiple individual air chambers that, when filled, create a unique massage motion on the body. It stimulates the lymphatic system, accelerating lymphatic drainage, removing excess fluids, and destroying waste, debris, dead blood cells, pathogens and other toxins.
This is very beneficial in improving the appearance of cellulite, skin tone and reducing areas of swelling. A course of treatments can help to boost circulation, bringing healthy oxygenated blood to the areas being treated that, when combined with the massage action, will help break down cellulite effectively.
