Facial fillers treatment, Maidstone, Kent
Revolumising the face can work wonders to restore a bit of youthful softness, and this is where facial fillers, gels that are injected into the face, come in. Fillers are wonderfully versatile and can be used to enhance and redefine the facial features, non-invasively with natural-looking results. Whether you’d like to restore volume in areas like the cheeks or lips, which have deflated with age, or you would like to smooth bumps on the nose or strengthen your chin to better balance your features, fillers can be an excellent option.
If you’re considering treatment, you may be wondering how long you can expect results to last. Whilst filler treatments are temporary, they can provide long-lasting results, but this will vary depending on the type of filler, the amount administered and the area injected. So let’s look at each area of the face to help you understand what to expect.
How long do cheek fillers last?
In the cheeks, fillers can really transform the face. They lift and define the cheeks, soften nose-to-mouth lines, and even lift jowls. As you age, you will lose fat in the cheeks, leading to a hollow or sunken midface. Fillers restore this lost volume, instantly lifting your appearance.
We tend to use Juvederm Voluma to restore volume to sunken cheeks. Cheek filler can last up to 18 months, sometimes longer, but we will recommend a review appointment prior to this time to help you maintain results. Filler placed in the mid-cheek where there isn’t much movement will last longer than filler placed in areas of frequent movement such as the lips or the smile lines around the mouth. Regular top-up appointments are recommended as they usually require less product and maintain your results better in the long run.
How long do lip fillers last?
Lip fillers are a popular way to treat thin lips, but they can also shape and define the lips and are often used to address drooping mouth corners.
The lips are soft and flexible, so you need a filler that will sit well within them. The best products will contain hyaluronic acid, and they will be designed for the lip area. These include products such as Juvederm’s Volbella, Restylane’s Silk or Kysse. Once in the lip, the filler will integrate with the lip tissue and hold onto moisture because that’s what hyaluronic acid does, and this will provide extra plumpness and hydration to your lips.
While the lifespan of dermal fillers can vary considerably between patients, depending on the product, your lifestyle and unique metabolism, Juvederm is the longest-lasting temporary lip filler, with results visible for up to a year. Restylane comes in at a close second, with results lasting between 6-10 months. But again, review appointments are usually advised every six months.
How long does chin and jawline filler last?
Chin and jawline filler is a great way to improve facial harmony by strengthening the lower face, softening jowls, improving a double chin, or producing a stronger and well-defined jawline.
The shape of our face changes a lot as we age – the skin thins and loses its plumpness. We lose bone in our skull, which causes the face to sink and fall downwards. The bone loss means that the lower face no longer has a robust framework, and our skin and fat begin to hang loosely. By restoring this structure and definition, we can change the shape of the jaw, creating a more heart-shaped, youthful appearance and lessening the appearance of jowls or a double chin.
We will use a denser filler product in this area, such as Juvéderm Volux and similarly to cheek fillers, depending on the filler type and amount used, treatment in this area can last for upto two years.
How long does tear trough filler last?
Dark circles, sunken eyes and fine lines can be instantly revitalised with tear trough fillers. Tear trough filler works to treat tired, aged eyes and boosts volume and collagen production simultaneously for a brighter eye area. Results from filler treatments in this area will last between six months and 18 months, depending on the product used and how much filler is placed under the eyes (and the surrounding areas).
How long do nose fillers (non-surgical rhinoplasty) last?
A non-surgical nose job involves injecting small amounts of hyaluronic acid filler at strategic points on the nose to make minor adjustments to its shape and contour. It can be used to camouflage dorsal humps, raise the nasal tip, make it look more defined, and improve specific contours. Results can last between 9 months and two years, depending on the anatomy of the nose, the issue being addressed, the patient’s metabolism, and the type of filler used.
In summary, fillers are an excellent way to address ageing concerns and asymmetries and can give beautiful lift and contour to the face, helping to restore a fresh, youthful appearance. When delivered by an experienced medical professional, the results are long-lasting and transformational.
