The Skin, Body & Beauty Treatments You Need to Try in 2021
With a New Year upon us, we reveal our 2021 skin and aesthetics wish list – the ultimate breakdown of the modern beauty treatments we believe are going to be big this year. We’re here to give you a sneak peek into the next 12 months, so you can get ahead of the game and start planning your skincare journey for the upcoming year. Spoiler: 2021 will be a year of finesse and minimally invasive treatments, including non-surgical treatments with significant results and little downtime.
2020 was predicted to be a banner year for the aesthetics industry. Although the pandemic influenced its direction, it was still a notable year with treatments such as facial contouring, chemical peels, neck lifts and anti-ageing injections in high demand.
As we plan for the possible return of events at some point over the next 12 months, we expect minimally invasive treatments, CoolSculpting and HydraFacials to reign supreme, as well as at-home facial treatments and devices as people continue to ramp up the self-care at home.
This is the year of non-surgical “tweakments”
Devices are continually evolving, and we predict that this year will be a big one for subtle non-surgical procedures that yield powerful results. Awareness of collagen regenerating treatments such as the Profound RF is increasing, particularly amongst patients aged 30-50. This skin savvy audience has recognised the benefits of investing in their ‘collagen bank’ for better skin in the longer term and are using these treatments as a preventative tool.
People are now looking for treatments that will give them a bigger bang for their buck. Think natural, subtle tweaks and lifts that get better and better over time, as opposed to undergoing a facelift or reconstructive surgery.
A combination of treatments to amplify results
Why have one treatment, when you can have two or three at once? Combining injectables with radiofrequency, microneedling or medical-grade facials surpasses expectations and delivers more advanced results. Whilst dermal fillers add structure and volume to the face; radiofrequency will help to lift and contour areas such as the jowls, jawline and neck. Taking a mix-and-match approach, according to a patient’s particular concerns, means that practitioners don’t have to take the most invasive route.
In 2021, we can expect more men and women to opt for a combination of treatments to see faster results at a fraction of the downtime.
A bright future for lip fillers
We have seen a rise in requests for lip fillers over recent months. In particular, those that are subtle, hydrated and defined with a naturally enhanced cupid bow.
2020 saw the introduction of longer-lasting and more versatile injectable fillers. Restylane, a new favourite of ours, is a soft, hyaluronic acid filler that subtly enhances the fullness of the lips, hydrating from the inside out for a beautiful, youthful look. Trends are moving, and a return to ‘naturalness’ when it comes to lip fillers is likely to be a big part of the aesthetics world in 2021.
CoolSculpting reaches new levels of popularity
Body contouring is an area that’s been gaining a lot of traction over the last few years with more and more people opting for procedures such as CoolSculpting to help them on their fat loss journey.
Whether you’d like to make 2021 the year that you finally get rid of love handles or you’d like to feel a bit more confident ahead of your wedding day, in 2021, stubborn pockets of fat are not something you need to tackle alone or live with.
HydraFacial remains Queen
In the skincare world, maskne was one of the biggest talking points of 2020. Many people who have never thought twice about the health of their skin are now experiencing increased breakouts and irritation due to daily mask-wearing.
Because of this, many sought after medical-grade facials, such as the HydraFacial, will be primarily focussed on reducing active breakouts whilst treating leftover hyperpigmentation and scarring over the upcoming months.
Health has never been more important
If we’ve learnt anything from the events of the last twelve months, it’s that making a conscious effort to maintain our health is crucial. Whether that’s by boosting gut health and immunity with supplementation, reducing stress and anxiety with CBD products, supporting the lymphatic system with the Body Ballancer or gaining a clear picture of your current health with an Advanced Health Screen, we expect health services to be just as crucial to patients as skin and aesthetics treatments in 2021.
