Illuminate introduce new private GP service to the clinic
Illuminate are delighted to introduce private GP consultations to our patients both virtually and in-person where appropriate. We have always been committed to finding ways to support healthier living but in the face of the current crisis, this is more important to us than ever. Our GP service gives you fast and easy access to friendly and experienced GPs either in our discreet clinic environment or from the comfort of your own home.
“We are living in unprecedented times at the moment and the hardest part is the uncertainty we are facing. I think it’s going to be a very difficult time for many people ahead,” says Dr Sophie Shotter, Medical Director at Illuminate Skin Clinic. “I have thought long and hard about how myself and the team at Illuminate can step up to help the local community through the crisis. Introducing private GP services is something I have been exploring for a while and I was hoping to launch them in the summer. However, I have decided to bring in two private GPs with immediate effect. They will be working alongside myself to offer general medical consultations over skype with the possibility of in-person appointments where needed.”
“People all over the country will find it very difficult to access their local GPs over the coming months. This a time where people may need medical advice more than ever” Sophie continues. “If you require medical support we can help, and this service will be offered on a not-for-profit basis for the next six weeks. All I would like to do at this time is support as many people who need help as possible and keep my team in jobs, but no more than this.”
The latest addition to Illuminate’s growing list of services offers quick and easy access to private GP services when you need them most. Consultations are 20-minutes long and during this appointment, our doctors will take the time to thoroughly discuss your health concerns and can refer you for scans or blood tests either on-site with one of our experienced practitioners or locally.
In addition to scans and blood tests, our GPs can also provide prescriptions, certificates, sick notes and referrals. We work with pathology services and consultant radiologists to ensure fast-track results and reporting, with a minimal turn around for results.
Sophie adds “The next several months are going to be a very challenging time for many people. If you’re worried about any health conditions or even if you’re worried about symptoms of the Covid-19 we are here to support you through thorough remote or in-person appointments where appropriate.”
