As the Front of House Supervisor at Illuminate, Emma Nye is the beautiful, friendly face that welcomes patients into our clinic, but she bravely admitted recently that she had been struggling with her complexion for a very long time.

So much so that she was feeling very self-conscious until Illuminate founder Dr Sophie Shotter stepped in to help.

Emma explained: “I have always suffered from congested skin and have tried so many different treatments and products, but never had the time to completely dedicate myself to following through with a treatment plan.

“Working front of house in the aesthetic industry I always felt very self-conscious.

“Dr Shotter could see this and offered to carry out a Skin Tech medium depth peel for me.

“She even went one step further and developed the skin peel into a bespoke Acne TCA Peel treatment just for me.”

The time had come for the treatment and nervous but excited about the possibilities Emma pressed ahead.

“Knowing that I would have a week’s downtime, I was very nervous,” she explained.

“Dr Sophie very quickly put me at ease and I was happy to go straight ahead with treatment, making sure I had no weekend plans of course!

“Friday morning I had the peel done, to be honest it was uncomfortable but bearable.

“Over the next few days I had a little facial swelling, the pigmentation in my skin became darker and my face became tighter and I went through a lot of moisturiser, which was given to me as part of the treatment.

“By day three my skin had started peeling and by day seven I was able to put my make up back on, feeling refreshed, confident and delighted with with my newly improved skin, thank you Dr Sophie.”
