Getting the most out of your consultation
Whether you are visiting for concerns about acne, scarring or stubborn areas of fat, visiting a Doctor about a concern can be a daunting thought. At Illuminate Skin Clinic we are aware of this and want to make you feel comfortable from the moment you make your enquiry.
We want you to feel that you are getting the most out of your initial consultation. Prior to your consultation we highly recommend doing some research about the procedure you are interested in, this will allow more in depth discussion about treatment options. Common things we will discuss with you during the consultation are treatment options, what sort of results you can expect and what sort of side-effects and downtime you might expect.
After booking your consultation you will receive a ‘Welcome’ email from the Illuminate team. This will include information about us you might find helpful, including directions to our different clinic locations.
We ask that if you are a new patient you arrive 15 minutes early to complete paper work. When arriving at the clinic you will be greeted by a member of staff and offered a drink whilst completing the relevant forms.
The first step of your consultation will be a Skincare Concierge assessment with our skin specialists. Our Aesthetic Therapists will thoroughly cleanse your skin before performing an Observation Skin Analysis. This is a sophisticated system which tells us more about what is going on beneath the surface of your skin – things we can’t always see with the naked eye. Some people are afraid of knowing this, but please rest assured we aren’t trying to judge you on how much time you’ve spent in the sun or how many years you smoked. All we aim to do is provide you with the best results we possibly can, and to do this we need to have as much information as possible. Afterwards you will have your full consultation with either Dr Sophie or another team member.
There will be a lot of information to take in during the first consultation. Sometimes it can be a good idea to bring a friend or family member with you to help you remember things you want to ask, or to remind you of things afterwards. We will also give you information to take home with you, and we are always happy to answer any further questions over email or during a follow-up phone call.
