CoolSculpting is an extremely effective, FDA cleared, non-surgical treatment for removing permanently unwanted subceutaneous fat from areas such as the tummy, flanks, inner and outer thighs, chin, arms and chest (men only).
With over 1.4 million treatments world wide and many medical papers researching the efficacy of the technology used behind the treatment, CoolSculpting is now becoming one of the UKs most popular treatments for fat reduction.
However, how do you know if you are a candidate for CoolSculpting and indeed, if the practitioner you are choosing has all the training, qualifications and equipment to perform the treatment safely and effectively?
We have listed below some useful criteria to know whether you are eligible for CoolSculpting and what to look out for in a practitioner to ensure that you get the results you require from the treatment.
How do I know if I qualify for CoolSculpting?
There are two types of fat in the body. Visceral fat is situated under the muscle and rather hard and firm and cannot be pinched or rolled in the hand. This fat does not qualify for CoolSculping as the head of the device cannot lift and suck this tissue. The best course of treatment for this type of fat is both diet and exercise. Subcutaneous fat, which lies above the muscle and under the skin, is able to be pinched by the hand and is therefore able to be treated with CoolSculpting with good results.
Dr Sophie will be happy to explain whether you are a candidate for CoolSculpting in a consultation prior to treatment.
How do I choose the correct CoolSculpting practitioner?
All approved CoolSculpting clinics should be listed when you search for a centre on the CoolSculpting website. Check www.coolsculpting.co.uk. You will see that Illuminate Skin Clinics appears on the site when you search for a centre in and around Maidstone, Kent. We are based in Kings Hill, which is 10 minutes from Maidstone and 6 minutes from West Malling. Train links are also extremely accessible and convenient.
All trained practitioners should display the CoolSculpting University diploma or a similar certificate. You can ask to see this in clinic if it is not visible on the walls when you enter.
There are 5 applicators for effective CoolSculpting treatments:
- Cool-Core, or the stomach area
- Cool-Curve, for the flanks
- Cool-Fit, for inner thighs
- Cool-Max, a de-bulking head
- Cool-Smooth, for outer thighs
The correct heads must be used in conjunction with the treatment required and Dr Sophie will explain throughout the treatment which heads are being used and why.
If you have any questions regarding CoolSculpting and would like to discuss this with the team at Illuminate Skin Clinics Kent, please call us on 01732 647007 and we will be happy to help.
