There are several brands of HA filler. However Dr Sophie will only use specific, tested and approved HA fillers such as Juvederm. Prior to any lip filler treatment Dr Sophie will consult with you to discuss your needs and requirements and advise on the procedure, products used and expected results. It is important that you have a full understanding of the treatment, that the doctor is aware of your medical history and that she and you are fully satisfied you would like to proceed. Lip filler procedures takes around 10 to 20 minutes and as this is the delicate lip area, you will be advised not to drinks anything too hot following the treatment as the anaesthetic may mean you cannot feel if something is burning you. Heat also encourages bruising and you will want to minimise the risk of this. A cooling ice pack may be used if necessary as well as massaging with arnica gel to ensure a smooth distribution of product. Any bruising can be covered with a light make up around 6 hours after treatment.
