Mention facelifts and horrible images of knives come to mind. Yet facelifts can be non surgical.
Non surgical facelifts can be achieved by using dermal fillers and they’re not as abrasive nor do they take time to heal. This means that dermal fillers have become a popular non surgical option for many women aged 30 and over.
Not many women know there is an alternative to surgical facelifts so in today’s article, we’ll be giving you all of the professional advice that you’ll need to know about dermal fillers: the non surgical facelift.
What are Dermal Filers?
Dermal fillers are a successful way of treating skin with wrinkles and deep lines that anti wrinkle creams can’t combat. They effectively fill, smooth and reduce hollows, creases and deep lines.
Aging skin looses collagen, which helps to give the face shape. The likes of smoking, drinking, sun and stress all help to age the skin too.
Dermal fillers are a great way to combat aging and they’re a non surgical facelift that will give you younger looking skin.
What does the Dermal Filler treatment involve?
The qualified doctor or nurse will cleanse the skin to reduce infection and apply numbing cream to reduce the pain. With an ultrafine needle, the dermal filler will be then injected into the chosen area of the skin.
How do Dermal Fillers work?
Dermal fillers will plump and smooth skin out. There are a number of types of dermal fillers used, the most well known one being Juvederm. Each type of dermal filler has its own shelf life – some last 6 months and others up to 24 months. Your dermal filler practitioner will advise you further on this.
Small amounts of filler will be injected into the surface of the skin; the dermal filler then works its magic and fills out the skin!
What kind of Dermal Fillers are there?
Juvederm lasts up to 18 months: a hyaluronic acid approved by the FDA and it lasts up to one year with just one treatment.
Restylane lasts between 6-12 months: works immediately and is known for rejuvenating skin.
Dermal filler recovery
Generally many people choose dermal fillers because you’re able to go about your business straight away.
Depending upon the area treated, there may be some swelling and minor bruising. That said, give it 30 minutes and you should be able to carry on with day to day activities.
It’s important to remember that everyone’s recovery process is different.
