Skin and the city

Skin and the city

Exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke and smog cause free radical, which rob skin of oxygen and other nutrients. This can make pigmentation worse; research shows that faces with uneven skin tone look older than those with a few lines and wrinkles.

Traffic pollution accounted for up to 20% increase in pigmentation on the forehead and cheeks. Participants who lived in more traffic-heavy areas were worst affected.

So what’s the solution? The answer is simple, use antioxidants!

As inflammation starts from within, antioxidants should also be taken internally. Take them in supplement form and eat brightly coloured fruit and veg!
