AREA BETWEEN JAW LINE AND MOUTH CORNER

As downturned mouth corners become more established they cause the ‘marionette lines’ running from the mouth corners towards the jowls. Treatment with dermal filler to physically lift the mouth corner and to fill out the hollow area in the marionette line will restore a more youthful look. (link) Botox can also be used to gently lift the mouth corners.

Threadlifting can be used to restore the cheeks and jowls to a more youthful position, therefore treating the cause rather than just the wrinkle. Deep threads in the muscle layers will lift the face to counteract gravity, whilst fine superficial threads will stimulate collagen production to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

CHIN AREA

For people with a receding chin dermal filler can be used for chin augmentation. A single injection over the chin itself will leave a ball of filler which we will smooth to provide you with a more pleasing profile to your chin. Dermal filler can also be used in the chin crease to provide a smoother appearance in this area.

Many people get ‘cobblestoning’ of the chin, particularly as we age. This can be effectively treated with Botox which will stop the muscle pulling responsible for this appearance. Wrinkle relaxing injections can also be used to drop the tip of the chin to treat what some people describe as a ‘witch’s chin’.

JOWLS

The jowls are caused by gravity pulling the tissues of the cheeks and lower face downwards. Early signs of this can be visible as we approach 40 and become more prominent as we age. Botox can be used to tighten the jawline, whilst dermal filler can be used to sculpt a more defined jawline in many patients.

Threadlifting is the treatment of choice for this area. Threads inserted into the muscle and skin layers of your face will lift the tissues back to a more youthful position and stimulate collagen production to tighten the skin. This procedure is performed using blunt needles under local anaesthetic. Not only will this technique improve what you see in the mirror, but it also reverses the process which has caused it.
